Obituary for Kordian Jacek "Jack" Zamorski

Peacefully, at The Meadows LTC on Sunday, June 1, 2014, Jack Zamorski in his 92nd year. Beloved husband for 67 years of Rose. Dear brother in law of Theresa McCabe, Helen Friell, and Magdalene McLaughlin. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, especially Anthony McLaughlin, who he treated as a son, and by his special great great nephew Hunter. Jack was a long time employee of Union Gas Ltd. with over 40 years of service, and a veteran of WW II, where he served overseas with the British 8th Army. Both he and Rose were founding Parishioners of St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church. An avid Hunter and Fisherman, Jack’s love of the outdoors led to his appointment as the Head Gun Instruction Coordinator for the Region of Hamilton Wentworth for many years, teaching many the proper handling of hunting rifles. Visitation at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Thursday, June 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Charles Garnier Roman Catholic Church, Hughson Street S. at Augusta, on Friday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Souls Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Rose and family would like to thank the Staff of The Meadows LTC for the care given to Jack, as well as to their friends who kept both of them in their prayers, especially the Most Rev. Bishop John Sherlock. Memorial donations to St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family. www.dermodys.com.
