Obituary for Marilyn Joan Neale (Ellis)

Marilyn Joan Neale (Ellis)
Marilyn Joan Neale passed peacefully with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Marilyn was born October 22, 1941 in Hamilton, Ontario to William Dunlop and Mary Ella (Demaline) Ellis. She was the beloved spouse of the late William Jay Neale. Treasured mother and best friend of Shelley Kelly (Paul), of Hamilton, and Gregory (Jessica Warren), of Castlemaine, Australia. A very proud and loving "Grandma Marilyn" of Alannah, Michaela and Siobhan Kelly and Lewis, Indygo and Tilly Neale. She was the much loved sister of the late David Ellis and loved Auntie "M" to his children Tara, Lisa, Lara, William, Natasha and their families. She also leaves behind her wonderful friend Henry Rapcewicz as well as many other relatives, friends and colleagues whose lives she touched. Marilyn grew up in Hamilton in a loving family. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing Class of 62. Her kindness and compassion led to a wonderful career in nursing and she was a strong advocate for the elderly. Marilyn was a founding member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in Hamilton. Marilyn retired in 2003 and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many close friends. She loved to travel, read, and was always ready for a new adventure. She did not let illness define her and was a great example of living in the moment and never giving up. Following her wishes, a funeral mass was celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church with family and close friends. If so desired, donations are requested for HHS Foundation Clinical Trials on behalf of Dr. Hal Hirte or the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice."Truly The Wind Beneath Our Wings" Love Forever and Always
