Eleanor Virginia Hickey
Peacefully at LHSC in London, Ontario, Eleanor Virginia Anne Hickey (nee Grover) died January 10th, 2017. Predeceased by her loving husband Edgar and her siblings, Joan, George, Bill, Roy, Donna and Johnny. Will be missed by her sister-in-laws, Rozita Hickey, Sr. Noreen Hickey and Eleanor Miller (nee Hickey) of Charlottown, PEI and Audrey Grover of Hamilton, Ontario.
Mother of Michael & Dianne Hickey (nee Dumas), Brian & Jane Hickey (nee Attema), Brenda (nee Hickey) & Jim Neiles, Colleen (nee Hickey) & John Gruggen, Paul & Laureen Hickey (nee Morton), Virginia (nee Hickey) & Frank Nemeth. Eleanor also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mom was a strong lady who touched the lives of many with her encouraging words and loving humour. She was a gifted artist and created many beautiful projects. Visitation at P. X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, ON L8V 4K4 on Friday January 13, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm with prayers at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 9:30am at St. Augustine’s RC Church, 58 Sydenham St., Dundas, ON L9H 2T9. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
