Passed away peacefully on January 12th 2017 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton in his 86th year. Loving father of Glen Cook of Woodbridge and Sheila Cook and her husband Mike Nairn of Hamilton. Allen was the brother of Barry Cook (Evelyn) of Oakville. Allen was predeceased by his beloved wife Susan, his son Michael and his sister Shirleyanne Smedley (Ross). Cherished grandfather to Julie, Sarah and Felicia. As a young man, Allen attended Bishops University in Sherbrook QC. His work in the Anglican Church would later take him to regions across Quebec and Ontario. Allen was a minister at parishes in the Dioceses of Montreal, Quebec, Niagara and Huron. Allen was particularly fond of the time he spent in the Gaspé region of Quebec and he returned often after his retirement. Friends and family will be welcomed for visitation on Wednesday January 18th from 7-9 p.m. at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave. Hamilton. A service celebrating Allen’s life will take place Thursday January 19th at 11 a.m. at Christ’s Church Cathedral, 252 James St. N. Hamilton. Internment will follow at St Paul’s Anglican Church Mount Hope. Donations in lieu of flowers to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
