Obituary for Harry Gordon Waller

Harry Gordon Waller
Waller, Harry Gordon
June 21, 1924 – March 7, 2017

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Waller at St. Peter’s Residence, at the age of 92 years. Much loved son, brother, husband, father, papa, great papa, uncle, great uncle, neighbour and friend. Harry was born in Hamilton to Harry & Lillian. He was predeceased by his much loved siblings Tom ad Dorothy and by his beloved wife Do (2012). Loving father to Jane (Ron), and the late Harry Jr (2007) (Linda). Caring Papa and great Papa of Mark, Corey, Chris, Casey (1998), Maddy, Logan and Parker. He also leaves behind his much loved nephews Jim & Bob Patterson, Tom Jr (2016) and David Waller and their families in California and Hamilton. Harry was raised in the north end. He served in the RCAF in WWII and was stationed in Gander, Newfoundland. When he returned from serving his country, he embarked on a career with Canadian Pittsburgh Industries. He also played at the Brant Inn for many years and went on to conduct the Harry Waller Orchestra at many venues in the GTHA and Niagara areas. He was a Ti-cat season ticket holder for many years and loved the Blue Jays. Many thanks to his church family at St. Michael’s Anglican Church and especially Rev Sheila for her support these past difficult years. Thank you to all the people involved in his care at St. Peter’s Hospital and St. Peter’s at Chedoke. Your kindness made this difficult journey more bearable. Many Hamiltonians enjoyed the swinging sounds of Harry Waller and his orchestra. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Friday, March 10th from 11:30am until the time of the service in the chapel at 12:30pm. Interment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
