Peacefully at home on Friday, March 10, 2017, Rose Berendt in her 81st year. Beloved wife of 57 years to Walter (Wally). Loving mother of Katherine (Gary Ostoich), Chris (Kathleen Irish), and Julie (Ted Chuckmala). Loved Nana of Taylor, Connor, Liam, Ayden, Abigail, Gwendolyn, Dean, and Ava. Survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, Hilda and John Prawica, and by her sister, Mary Langford. Rose worked for the Wentworth County Board of Education for over 25 years. She enjoyed spending many hours in her beautiful gardens, gourmet cooking and travelling whenever possible. She will be remembered for her elegance, grace and devotion to her family, especially her loving grandchildren. Visitation at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Monday, March 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 63 Highway 20 East (Elfrida) on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 a.m. Cremation.
