Obituary for Olive Marjory Lawson

Lawson, Olive Marjory Hay
April 30, 1916-March 10, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olive at the General Hospital (Hamilton) in her 101st year. Dear aunt of Patricia Lawson, John Lawson (Chris), Anita Jolliffe (Ian), Michael Gibson (Vickey) and Stephen Gibson (Heidi). Predeceased by her brother William Lawson (Mildred) and sister Gwen Gibson (Stan). She will be dearly missed by many great and great-great nieces, nephews, and friends. Special friend to Ghislaine Bernier. Olive lived her last seven years in Hamilton at the The Court of Rushdale Retirement Residence. These were some of the best years of her life. Olive loved family, life and learning. She had a great sense of humor, and a quick wit. Her memory was amazing, she was able to recount names, dates, and stories in great detail from recent times going back to her early days growing up in Toronto. “Do not mourn for Olive, celebrate her life, she had a deep faith and has gone home to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ.” Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Olives’ life for family and friends will take place at the home of Ian and Anita Jolliffe on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2pm-5pm.
