Condolence: The hockey community (Lawfield, Hamilton hockey council, and Alliance) has lost a HARD working and FAIR man, in Daryl !!!! Daryl had committed countless, personal hours as a Volunteer in help making the Lawfield Minor Hockey Association a quality and competitive association with FAIRNESS for all. I only knew Daryl through the years that we spent together on the Executive of Lawfield and had gained my respect by the way he had dealt fairly and honestly with the concerns of parents and coaches.. Daryl was the President of our association, BUT, he fulfilled many other duties, when the need arose.... The loss of Mr. Villeneuve has left a Huge Void within the association, But, with the rest of the Executive exhibiting their dedication the Lawfield Minor Hockey Association will continue on,, in the memory of MR. DARYL VILLENEUVE !!!! It has come the time for other people to "STEP UP TO THE PLATE & GET INVOLVED!!!! Become a Daryl.. I for one will miss him..

Condolence From: Tom & Pam Dunn
Condolence: Daryl and I were close friends during our high school days at St. Thomas More High School. We shared the best of times during those years and the memories will live forever. Unfortunately, as our paths took different directions, we lost touch with each other. On occasion we did meet up at the odd hockey tournament and he spoke so proudly of his son, Nicholas. Pam and I send our deepest condolences to you Nicholas - your father was a true friend many years ago and from what I have read, a respected member of the hockey community in Hamilton. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Condolence: Daryl was a modest individual but when asked he willingly expressed his pride in three things: Nicholas, Lawfield Minor Hockey, and his second home at Sauble Beach.

Daryl always chose consultation over conflict, inclusion over exclusion and was quick to extend his hand in friendship. We became friends when Daryl accepted an offer as Trainer for the Bantam Thunder. Trainers subscribe to the motto “Do no Harm”. Daryl’s personality as President was to turn that phrase upside down by stating “Let’s make it Better”. There were numerous incremental improvements but often imaginative innovations – all enhancing the experience for our children.

The sadness felt, and sentiments expressed, can best be summed up this way – Daryl was like a brother and our loss is for the years of brotherhood not enjoyed.

Daryl will be sorely missed and our hearts go out to Nicholas…

Condolence: Daryl was a great friend to many. He will be missed around the rink. Although hockey will carry on, it will never be quite the same. Rest easy my friend and know that as sad as we all are, we know you are together again with your beloved wife. Nick, hold your head up and know that your Dad was a great man. God bless you.
