Obituary for Maria Grande (Gallo)

Maria Grande (Gallo)
Grande, Maria Teresa (nee Gallo)
Sept. 12, 1927 – May 30, 2017
Maria Teresa Grande passed away peacefully and contently at Hamilton General Hospital. She was a devoted and caring partner in life to her late husband Ugo Grande (2000). Loving and supportive mother to Adriana Hayden and her husband John of Cobourg, Ont. and to Angelo Grande and his wife Anna of Hamilton. Ever affectionate and giving grandmother to Julia Hayden, John Justin Hayden, Lauren and Adam Grande. Always gregarious great grandmother of Benjamin Alexander Forsyth Hayden. Maria leaves behind her brother Angelo Gallo and his wife Giuseppina of Hamilton and their children Rosanna, Cristina and Greg. Maria was loved and admired in life for her independence and strength. She expressed her love to all, both young and old in a sensitive and genuine manner. Maria conducted her life guided by her values, her integrity and her faith. Friends and family will be received at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Friday, June 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Prayers will be said on Friday at 2pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, on Saturday, June 3rd at 10am. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum. If so desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Her final words to her son Angelo were to continue to love each other, try to avoid conflict and tell everyone I will continue to love them all. Her smile, her faultless generosity and her optimism in life will remain in our hearts. On-line condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
