Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Elma Sampson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Peacefully on November 22, 2017 at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Elma Sampson, 83 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Gil. Loving mother of Linda Sampson (Mark Gushul), Annette Braun (Alex), Shelley Wolsey (Jim), and the late Tracey Sampson. Dear grandma of Jennifer, the late Stephanie, James, Chloe and Vivien. Elma was a devoted mother and truly represented the title “homemaker” and in her later years worked at Sears Canada. She was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes and a member of the CWL. She was very active in the community, loved to volunteer, and enjoyed many social activities, including, playing tennis, was a member of the Red Hats, was a part of a knitting circle, and keeping up with her co-workers. A special thanks to Brenda, Mirasol, Boey, Irma, and all the staff at the Carpenter Hospice and the VON. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Sunday November 26, 2017 from 7-9PM. Vigil Prayers will be held at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena, Our Lady of Lourdes Site (416 Mohawk Rd. E.) on Monday November 27, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carpenter Hospice.
