Obituary for Francesco Mauro

Mauro, Francesco “Frank” "Ciccio"
July 16, 1967 – November 26, 2017

It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Francesco Mauro after a brief illness on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the young age of 50. Reunited once again as he passed through the gates of heaven into the loving arms of his parents Carmela and Giuseppe, he is finally at peace and free from pain.Deeply mourned by his best friend and “bb” Vanessa. Survived by his brother Ralph, his beautiful niece Mia, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in Canada, USA, Italy, and Switzerland.
A special thank you to cousins Eda Mauro (Las Vegas, NV), Joe and Lisa Licata (Hamilton, Ontario) and Zia Anna Mauro (Italy) for their unending support, compassion and unconditional love for Francesco. Near or far they were always there for him and never gave up on him especially when he was at his lowest. He was truly blessed to have had the four of you in his life.
Francesco was a beautiful soul- no matter what troubles he was enduring he always had a smile and a laugh for everyone. His love for music, the guitar, and especially the Beatles was limitless. We’re sure he’s up there now jamming with John, George, and Jim. He was a proud Italian Canadian and had a fondness for Jeeps. Most of all he loved his “kiddz (cats)” Mezzanotte, Joe, and Ringo with all his heart.
Thank you to all the staff at the Juravinski Hospital/Cancer Centre, the VON (especially nurse Nuala), and CAP for their kindness, compassion, and support.
Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (796 Upper Gage Ave.) on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. with a service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. Cremation to follow.
Those who so desire may make a memorial donation in Frank’s name to the Cancer Assistance Program.

“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
– The Beatles, The End.
