Peacefully on December 26th 2017 in Hamilton, Ontario in her 75th year. Reunited with her husband George (2001). Predeceased by her parents, Bob and Eleanore Józefowicz and treasured cousin Janine Weir. Cherished niece of Bronislawa Byk and cousins Halina and Frank Iwanski, Jerry Iwanski, Isabelle Vanstone (Jake), Tricia Mills (Chad), Michael Weir (Carrie) and Malgorzata Strugala (Janusz). Dear sister-in-law of Peter and Judy Dales, Joanne and Ralph Tersigni, Father Richard Dales, Jane and Peter Flachs, and the late Michael Dales. Loving aunt of Cathy (Bryan), Julie (Rinaldo), Dan (Ashley), Patti (David), Dominic (Daniella), Eddie (Katherine), Laura (Josh), Matthew, Alexandra and very special great-aunt to Kirk, Nick, Ryan, Olivia, Sophia, Jane, Katherine, Adrian, Ella, Cole, Makayla, Samson, Charlotte, Gavin, Della, Norah, Michael (Joni) and Krzysztof (Lou Lou). Cécile will be dearly missed by cousins in France, Scotland and Poland and by many loving friends in Collingwood, Hamilton and beyond.
Born in France, Cécile immigrated to Hamilton, ON with her parents at the age of 8. An avid skier, she met George through friends on one of her many trips north. They settled in Craigleith and for many years enjoyed their shared passions of the outdoors, skiing, hiking, gardening, travel and volunteering in their community. Cécile travelled often, increasing the number of people who called her friend. She gave selflessly of her time, shared her many talents with others, always living life to the fullest. Cécile made a positive and lasting impact on all who knew her and we will cherish her boundless love of her family and friends, her kind heart, beautiful smile, warm hugs, thoughtful gestures, strength of character and her love of the beauty in nature and wildlife. She will be deeply missed but we take comfort knowing Cécile will live on within our hearts. Visitation at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton on Wednesday January 3rd 2018 from 2 - 4 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 4 pm. Funeral mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Collingwood at 11 am Saturday January 6th 2018 with a reception immediately following. Interment will take place in the spring. www.dermodys.com.
