Obituary for Arthur Robert Service

Service, Arthur Robert
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Arthur Service on December 25, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved husband and best friend of Vivian for 65 years. Loving father of Bob (Diane), Dan (Carol), Pete (Gayle), Susan, Karen (Greg). Proud Grandpa to 13 grandchildren and Great-Grandpa to 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his dear parents Doris and Arthur and beloved sister Doris. Bob was an immensely proud family man and friend. He retired from his job, that he enjoyed, as a bricklayer for over 50 years, and was a diehard Blue-Jays Fan. He loved listening to music, playing his harmonica and telling a good joke. He loved all animals, especially dogs. He always carried dog biscuits in his pockets for any dogs he met. Bob will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to all the PSW workers and Juravinski staff who took such good care of our father. He will be sorely missed by all. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Saturday, January 13th from 1-2pm followed by a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 2pm. Burial to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation to a Local Food Bank or Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
