Obituary for Ida "Angela" Sedran (Della Rossa)

Sedran, Ida Angela

Angela passed away in the afternoon of March 12th after 2 months in the Juravinski Hospital and 4 days at St. Peter’s Hospital. She was in her 95th year and had lived independently since the death of her husband in 1983. She was born in Aurava, San Giorgio della Richinvelda, Pordenone, Italy, and came to Canada in 1951, married Gabrielle Sedran in 1954, and lived in Hamilton for 68 years. She was a vocal supporter of her community, making herself well known to city officials at all levels(often calling the CHML talk line) and was active at St. Patrick’s Church. Following her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Victoria, Maria, and Vanda, and leaves behind her son, Paul(Donna) of Mississauga, and grandson, Deryl, (Nimasha) of Texas. She is also survived by her niece, Roberta of Italy, her nephew Lorne of British Columbia, and three nephews in Italy, Stephano, Piero, and Angelin. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Avenue S., on Friday March 16, 2018 from 9-10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 440 King St. E. on Friday March 16, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Angela’s name to the Juravinski Hospital or St. Peter’s Hospital.
