Tschense, Frieda (nee Wegner)
September 8, 1924 – April 8, 2018

Passed away peacefully at Idlewyld Manor in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Gustav (1981) and son Karl-Heinz. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Rita (John) and son Norm (Linda). Beloved Oma to Nicholas. Dear sister of Alexander (the late Erika), the late Alina Sliwinski (the late Jozef), the late Sigismund (Irma), and the late Edmund. She is predeceased by her parents Augusta and Michael. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins in Canada and Germany. Frieda was born in Sumin, West Prussia and emigrated to Canada in 1950. She was a long-time member of the Lutheran Women’s Organization. A heartfelt appreciation for the compassionate care provided by the staff on Orchardview at Idlewyld Manor. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (796 Upper Gage Ave.) on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Mt. Hamilton Cemetery. If desired, donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
