Faria, Joan (nee Carneiro)


Passed away at home, peacefully and quickly, on May 4, 2018 at the age of 84. Loving wife of Mike(deceased). Loving mother of Michael(deceased), Renée Ferreira(Olavo), Christopher(Laura), Jonathan, and Raquel. Loving Nana of Joelle, André, Jason, and Adam. Loving sister of Olive “Babs”(Ernest) and Veera “Min”(Hariharan). She will be greatly missed by the extended Faria family and many friends of all ages. Joan was the founder of Friends in Grief, which continues to help many families cope with loss. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell) on Wednesday May 9, 2018 from 1-3 and 7-9PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (20 Idlewood Ave.) on Thursday May 10, 2018 at 1 PM. Cremation to follow.
