On Tuesday, May 8th, at the Juravinski Hospital, Martin John Galvin, beloved husband for 45 years of the late Norine (nee Graham). Much loved father of Mary Ellen and her husband Robert Plaenk, Roger, Daniel and his wife Samantha Moser, and Katy and her husband Dominic Dostie. Grandfather of Anthony, Sebastian, Robert, Gabriel, Annie, Martin, Samuel, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brother Daniel(Anne), his sisters-in-law Kathryn and Marie and many nieces and nephews. Martin was predeceased by his siblings Cameron, Mary, Gerard, Clare and William. The family would like to extend very special thanks for the wonderful care that Martin received at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and Hospital, especially from Dr. D.Marcellus and her nurse Shannon, as well as the many nurses and staff at the Juravinski Hematology Wing. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Thursday May 10, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a brief interment service at Woodland Cemetery on Friday May 11, 2018 at 1 p.m. which will be followed by a celebration of Martin’s life for family and friends at The Irish Club of Hamilton, 389 Concession St. Donations to Welcome Inn Community Centre or to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
