Lynch, John Patrick, “Patâ€

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Lynch on November 22, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Wanda (nee LeGallais)and loving father of Tammara (Ken), Dan (Vickie), and Linda Armstrong (Gary). Dear grandpa to Kate Baker (Mike), and Adam (Alex). Pat loved that he was able to meet his great grandson, Owain Baker earlier this year. Pat was predeceased by his brother Ed, and sisters Audrey and Alice and is survived by many nieces and nephews. He spent many years enjoying and working his farms in Jerseyville as a past-time from his other business interests. Pat will be fondly remembered for his poetry and wonderful storytelling, providing much joy and laughter to his many friends and family; he was a true Irish storyteller.

Pat and Dan founded L&A Financial Group in 1986 and together built a very successful financial planning and insurance business committed to the well being of others and trusted relationships. Prior to that, Pat spent many years in the construction business and was the proud owner of Westpile (Foundation) for many years, participating in the construction of Ontario’s bridges and commercial and industrial structures. He also truly enjoyed his travel and saw many special places and would have loved to have visited many more. He believed in giving back, whether through his work in politics or volunteering. Small children were always important to him and he mentored through Neighbour to Neighbour and organized a drive to provide warm hats and mitts to elementary schools in his old neighbourhood every winter. Through his life he was most proud of his family and the wonderful friends that he made and kept for decades.

The family wishes to especially thank those many friends who visited with Pat and provided support and encouragement through a difficult illness. He was loved by many and thought of his “angels†with gratitude every day.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 11 Wilson Street, Ancaster, on Wednesday, November 28th at 11am. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the funeral mass at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club, 232 Golf Links Road, Ancaster and all of his friends and family are welcome to share a glass of “Irishâ€. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
