Condolence From: Debbie Tydd
Condolence: von Appen Family -
I was so sad to hear tonight about Rigo‘s passing. He is with his dear Bridget in heaven now.
Mr. and Mrs. von Appen were always so good to me, and I enjoyed many, many dinners at their home. Their love for each other and their family was a wonderful example to me. I admired Rigo’s work ethic and self-discipline and, even more so, what I saw as his love of culture, music, reading and nature. He commanded respect and admiration. He lived a long, full life - and I will always remember him very fondly and with gratitude.
Rest In Peace.

Condolence: We're very sad at the loss of such a grand person. Both Rigo and Bridget were so very kind and welcoming to me, as I stayed with Kevin and Diana for 3 years.

I remember very fondly the family dinners on the mountain, as Bridget made my favourite meal and Rigo made me laugh in that super-retro basement with fake fire and barcaloungers.

He and his superb energy is sorely missed, though we're glad he will be back with Bridget.

Condolence: I have warm memories of helping Rigo with his Bondi blue iMac. He would ply me with strong German beer and sandwiches with a much butter as meat. He was in such awe of the computer and the world it opened up to him that he renewed my own sense of magic in the technology. He was endlessly curious, immensely proud of his sons and had a deep sense of chivalry and honour. It was a joy to know him.

Condolence: I was privileged to know Rigo a little, and to know about Rigo a lot. After hearing of his exploits for over thirty years I can only conclude: what a good man he was; what a strong love he had for life and family; and what a lasting gift he has left us all.

Thank you Mr. Rigo. You made the world a better place.
