Hilda Maria Parekh (née Correia)
Passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Hilda arrived in Canada from her native India 51 years ago and worked many of those years as a Registered Nurse in the City of Hamilton. She is survived by Kersi, her devoted husband of 47 years, their children Hector (Auralee) and Serena (Ed) and five grandchildren, Emmy (age 12), Brawley (age 10), Auggie (age 10), Kersi (age 7) and Malcolm (age 6). Hilda was a lifelong devout Catholic who derived great energy, comfort, joy and friendship from her faith. Many thanks to the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and the many wonderful personal support workers who helped care for her. The family also would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the Juravinski and St Joseph Hospitals. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Friday, December 28th from 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Annunciation of our Lord Parish on Saturday, December 29th at 9:30am. Burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jesuit Refugee Service would be gratefully appreciated. On-line condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
