The many trinutes and meesages of condolence posted here and elsewhere speak to the reputation John built not only in the insuranc eindustry but in the community. Patently he was a leader in the resolution of difficult claims in a manner that met corporate objectives but left the insureds with dignity and respect. That is a trai rarely practiced. More importantly John was a man of incredible intellect but also humour. He could quietly chide a client where required yet also encourage his team. John was both client and friend - a rare combination. What an incredible loss for family, friends, industry but also our province and country. Rest in pece my mentor and friend.

I will always remember John's intelligence and wit. I would laugh out loud at my desk when I read his latest blog posting. He was a leader in the insurance industry and will be missed professionally and personally. I had a lot of good times with John that I will always remember. I offer my sincere condolences to John's family, of whom he spoke often. John was a special person. Godspeed my friend.

As I sit here today, I can't believe it. Too soon Chief. I hope wherever you are, you're surrounded by people, regaling them with the incredible and fanciful stories that you so loved to tell all of us... the General Accident bowling team never had it so good. You were one of a kind John, and I'll miss you buddy.
May the road rise to meet you, and the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face... and until we meet again, may God keep you well.
