It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Vincent Basciano on January 29, 2019 at the Juravinski Hospital. Proud father of Domenic (Martha) and Anthony Basciano of Hamilton. Dear brother to the late Carlo Basciano of Guelph, the late Jean Di Orio (Guido) of Hamilton, and brother-in-law to Irene Basciano (Kapuzinski) of Guelph, ON. Dear uncle to William DiOrio and his son Quinton of Hamilton, Michael (Penny) Pattmore of Port Elgin, On, and the late John Salicce of Pittsburg, Pen, USA, and Rose Kelly (Capriotti) of Hamilton. Loving partner to Dyane Waite of Hamilton. Vincent will be sadly missed by his friends, Mario Biscak, Carmella Marabella, Mario Vissochi, Rita Fournier all of Hamilton, and Kory Pallie of Burlington. He will be remembered by the members of the “Tuesday Coffee Club.” He was employed with the L.C.B.O. from 1972 until 2012. He was an avid fan of The Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Club as a child growing up on Somerset Ave., that led to a volunteer position in 1992 in the areas of Communications, Statistics, and Media Relations/Support; and in 1995 as an Equipment Assistant until 2014. He was also a volunteer as a Trillium judge with the The Hamilton Beautification Committee for 8 years, serving on the executive for 3 years, and the 50th Anniversary Committee in 2006. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave, on Friday, February 1st from 2-4 & 6-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Satuday, February 2nd at 10am. Cremation to follow. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
