Emery, Alfred Lloyd Russell “Russell”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell Emery on February 16, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Villa in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Edith (nee Dobos). Loving father of Diane Ricci (Brian), Greg (Joanna), and Dave (Nancy). Dear grandpa of Steven, Veronica, Monty, Mimi, Nathan and Curtis. Great grandpa of Xavier and Liadan. Dear brother of Doreen , Ron and predeceased by his brothers Leo, Don and sister Verna. Russ was a retired employee of Westinghouse with 42 years of service. Russell was also passionate about sports and was monumental in bringing minor baseball to the Hamilton west mountain in the 60’s. He coached and was convener for minor hockey and baseball for many years and contributed tremendously to the community in this regard. His sense of humor and his ability to make people feel good about themselves will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Sunday, February 24th from 5-9pm. Prayers to be said on Sunday at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Regina Mundi Church on Monday, February 25that 10:00 a.m.. Burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
