Fingland, Robert George
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, in his 85th year at the
Hamilton General Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean of 59 years.
Loving Father of Sharon (John) Piedimonte, Douglas (Mary) and Mark (Rebecca).
Cherished Papa to Vincent (Vanessa) Anne (Brett), Alicia (Matt), Sean, Patrick, Ian
and Grace. Bobby was born in Glasgow Scotland in 1934. He worked at Stelco for
38 years, retiring in 1992 from Number 2 Rod Mill. As snowbirds, Bob and Jean
spent many years in St. Petersburg, Florida and made many friends at Paradise
Shores. The family would like to thank Dr. Eva Lonn, Nurses Alison Magy and
Linda Frennette for their care and compassion. Thanks also to the nurses and
staff of 4 West at the Hamilton General Hospital for their exemplary generous
care. Visitation will be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home at 796 Upper Gage
Avenue on Saturday, April 6, from 5 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to
the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
