Obituary for Linda Marie Cummings (Street)
CUMMINGS, Linda Marie – (Sept 8 1938-Sept 14, 2019)
Sixty-two years ago, when Edward and Linda married, much to Linda’s surprise Ed announced to the crowd that they would have six children. They had seven: Warren (Catherine), Mark, Peter, Mary Frances, Melanie (Paul Mitchison), Paul (Lisa) and Patrick (Toni). Being a mom was Linda’s proudest accomplishment. Becoming a grandma was an even greater joy. She had 16 grandchildren: Justin (Sunny Jung), Christopher (Nicki Kirchmayer), Melissa (Mackenzie Slifierz), Kristen (Mitchel Asquith), Katie, Andrew, Joel, Michael, Riley, Darcy, Molly, Emily, Ethan, Ella, Sophia (Seung Yeob Chu) and Christian. More happiness followed with great grandchildren Tristin and Evelyn. Linda was the best mom in the world and we’ll miss her so, so much. We have a million stories to tell about her, to anyone who will listen. Linda’s family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton — from hemodialysis to 5 Complex Care and everywhere in between — for their attentive care and kindness. Special thanks to Dr. Joan Krepinsky and family, Annalisa Voskamp, Dr. Susan Van Baardwijk, Dr. Bryan Alton, Dr. Anne Woods, Dr. Jacqueline Moreno and Lucinda Landau from spiritual care. To all the staff and patient pals in the hemodialysis unit at St. Joe’s Charlton campus, you were her other family over the last five years. Thank you. Visitation will be held at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage on Friday September 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
