It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe at home with family by his side. Loving husband of Marlene for 48 years. Beloved father of Peter (Rachel), John (Lisa), Kate(Craig), and Bridget(Connell). Papa was loved and admired by his nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Bridget (nee Cronin). His family in Ireland will miss him dearly. Growing up in Kilcummin, Ireland he played Gaelic football with his brothers, Rev. Fr. Peter, the late James(Helen), Johnnie(Annie), the late Patrick, Tim(Mary), and his dear sister Eileen Bailey(the late Tim). He will be missed by several nieces and nephews. Remembering him are brothers-in-law Gary, Brian (Marlene) and especially Gerald; and sister-in-law Deborah (Dave) Schofield. Thanks to Dr. P. Major and his nurse Sue, and Dr. P. Popuri for their expertise and care. A special thanks to nurse Gina for her kindness, attention, and compassionate care to Joe. He was a decent, honourable, and compassionate man. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Ave. S. (Between King and Main) on Wednesday October 9, 2019 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 5:30 p.m. A reception to follow. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
