Lewis, Daniel Lyon
August 26, 1948 to November 5, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce Daniel passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 5th at the age of 71. The loving and devoted husband of Cathey for 48 years, Danny was the loving father of his son Danny (Kristy), daughter Kristyn (Alan) and much loved grandpa to Dylan and Amber. Loving brother of Howie (Elizabeth), Sue (Rob), David (Karen) and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Danny had so many friends, it seemed like he knew just about everybody. He loved to fish and after 25 successful years of service with the Ford Motor Co, Danny entered into a well deserved retirement. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue on Saturday November 16th from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hamilton Humane Society or McMaster Sick Kids would be appreciated by his family.

I always enjoyed the interaction between Uncle Danny and Avery. They had a beautiful relationship and were like two peas in a pod. Danny was always so kind to me and I will miss his warm smile and huge heart. It gives me peace that Danny and Avery will be reunited in this most beautiful universe.

It was probably the 1st month of me working at Ford, I was working on the engine line in the truck plant. Dan was always very helpful. This one day Dan was trying to sneak up to me to scare me, in doing so he accidentally stepped on a broom which the handle came up & hit Dan square in the face. I could not stop laughing, he walked up to me & asked if I seen what happened. While laughing I told him that is something you only see on the 3 stooges. He just laughed & walked back to his job. Dan was okay, just his pride was hurt. Dan was always one to make you laugh & smile. He was a good & caring man. He will be missed.

There has never been a man who was loved by so many people. Danny was the happiest when he was helping other people. The smile that he could put on kids faces. His compassion for Camp Day at Timmies, his total devotion for Relay for Life and McMaster Sick Kids. He will be missed by so many people. I am so proud to call this man my brother and don't know what we are all going to do with out him. I love you brother and am going to miss your message .'' You know what to do because really now I don't know what to do. Gone too soon. … Love always, your sister Sue.
